Description: ...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 AM EDT FORSOUTHWESTERN CATTARAUGUS AND SOUTHEASTERN CHAUTAUQUA COUNTIES...At 438 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warnedarea. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.Flash flooding is already occurring. The heaviest rain has fallen inthe Conewango Valley from Waterboro to Conewango to Cherry Creek.This will first cause flash flooding in the headwaters of ConewangoCreek and some of its feeder streams, with Conewango Creek expectedto continue to rise over the next couple hours. There was also heavyrain in Jamestown as well as the rest of the warned area.Some locations that will experience flooding include...Jamestown, Falconer, Jamestown West, Frewsburg, New Albion, Gerry,Conewango and Ellington.This includes Interstate 86 between exits 11 and 17.
Instructions: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
